Lavender Heart Sachet

Make some of these cute sachets filled with lavender for yourself or as a gift! It’s a simple project but made so much easier with our GO! Hearts die! No need to trace and cut the hearts yourself – the die cuts them perfectly. These hearts can be used to hang in between clothes, tuck under a pillow at night, or simply be decorative!

Materials:

  1. AccuQuilt GO! Big or GO! Fabric Cutter
  2. AQ55029 GO! Heart – 2”, 3”, 4”
  3. 15cm x 30cm Scraps of fabric per heart
  4. 20cm piece of ribbon or ricrac per heart
  5. 5 or 6 stalks of lavender
  6. Sewing Machine
  7. Matching Sewing Thread
  8. General Sewing Tools

 

Cutting Instructions:

Cutting instructions are per heart

  1. From the scraps:
    • Using AQ55029 Go! Heart – 2”, 3”, 4”
      • Cut (2) 4” hearts

 

Sewing Instructions:

All seams are ¼” unless otherwise specified.

Sew the Heart Lavender Sachet

 

  1. Pin the 20cm piece of ribbon to the wrong side of one of the hearts:

 2. Place the other heart, wrong sides together, on top of the first heart with ribbon, pin:

   3. Starting at the side of the heart, stitch around it. Slow down where the ribbon is pinned and pull the pin out to avoid hitting it with the needle. Leave a gap to fill with lavender:

   4. Fill with fresh lavender:

5. Once filled, sew the gap closed, stitching over a few of the existing stitches:

Other Options

  • Use ricrac instead ribbon if desired
  • Make the lavender heart sachet plain without a ribbon or ricrac
