How to Die Cut 2 1/2" Strips
How to Die Cut 2 1/2" Strips

2 1/2" Strips:
- Cut 5 1/2" wide strips across the width of the fabric to create two 2 1/2" strips.
- Fan fold into 10" lengths.
- Position the fabric on the die so the fold is perpendicular to the cutting blades and feeds through the cutter first.
- One yard of 40" wide fabric will cut 13 strips.

2 1/2" Squares:
- Begin with a 2 1/2" strip and align it across the die board using the 90° guide line.
- Fan fold into 5 1/2" widths.
- Cut 14 squares (2 1/2") across the width of fabric.
- One yard of 40" wide fabric cuts 182 squares.

45° Diamond – 2 3/4" Cut Side Edge:
- Start with a 2 1/2" strip and align it across the die board to the right side of the 45° guide line.

30° Diamond – 4 1/2" Cut Side Edge:
- Start with a 2 1/2" strip and align it across the die board to the left side of the 30° guide line.

Note:
- You can achieve a full 30° diamond using only the top and middle blades.

60° Diamond – 2 1/4" Cut Side Edge:
- Start with a 2 1/2" strip and align it across the die board to the right side of the 60° guide line.

With some fabrics, you may notice a thread or two remaining where the die blades meet. Simply snip these with scissors.

Some dies have blades positioned at an angle — always align the fabric with the shape edge, not the die board edge.

Use good-quality fabric to reduce stretching.

Always test-cut one shape before cutting multiples to ensure the fabric orientation is correct.
