Introducing Our Bloggers

We are excited to announce our GO! Inspiration Blog. The featured designers for this blog will be Caroline Gunn and Mandy Murray. There will be a free project the first week of every month for you.

Caroline Gunn

Sewing has been part of Caroline’s life since she was very young. She has sewn clothes, bridalwear, dolls, bags and more recently has ventured into patchwork and quilting. She has had many of her project patterns published and loves to create simple projects to inspire people to take up sewing.

I think it is important to show the next generation how much fun sewing and creating can be. It is about expressing yourself with colours, patterns and fabrics that make you happy. Enjoy that beautiful piece of out of print fabric that everyone wants to hoard in their cupboard, cut it up sew it into a project, I do!

I love the role that social media now has in today’s culture, it’s a great way to link up with likeminded people all over the world.

I am a member of the Greater Western Sydney Modern Quilt Guild. We are a very social group that share techniques and ideas amongst our members. I love looking at quilting/designing from a modern perspective. I am also part of an on-line group called Aussie Hero Quilts and laundry bags. This group is dedicated to making quilts and laundry bags to serving members of the Australian Defence Force deployed away from their family and friends overseas.

As you can see I love to sew and I love to share my ideas! I hope to be able to inspire new sewers try my projects.

Mandy Murray

Mandy is a multi-talented sewer, quilter, teacher, and blogger. She began her career teaching in a High School in Bundaberg. majoring in Textiles and Hospitality and was a favourite with her students.

I am extremely passionate about inspiring others to sew! This is what led me into becoming a High School Textiles and Hospitality teacher. Teaching others fills my heart with happiness, I find it so rewarding to see their faces light up, so proud of what they create!

Whilst I was teaching, I entered a Young Designer Diva Competition through Blessington and I won! Now, for my full time job, I travel around Australia attending Craft Shows, teaching and encouraging people to sew!

I am addicted to anything crafty, sewing at any chance and often lost in a daydream, thinking of a new bright idea. I am passionate about learning as much as I possibly can to create unique and innovative projects to share with and inspire others.
