Did you ever play the game of “Loves me, Loves me not” with a daisy, pulling off each petal one by one until you found the “answer” to your question?!
With this sweet wall hanging the answer is always “Loves Me!” as you sew each flower made with hearts, one petal at a time!
Materials:
- AccuQuilt GO! Big or GO! Fabric Cutter
- AQ55029 GO! Heart 2”, 3”, 4”
- AQ55045 GO! Rose Of Sharon
- AQ55017 GO! Strip Cutter 2 ½” (2” Finished)
- Assorted scraps of pink and yellow fabric
- 20cm matching fabric for binding
- Half meter background fabric
- (1) 16” x 16” square of batting
- Fusible Web
- Sewing Machine
- Matching Sewing Thread
- General Sewing Tools
Cutting Instructions:
- Using AQ55017 Cut (2) 2 ½ strips from the binding fabric.
- From the background fabric cut (2) 16” x 16” squares.
- Apply fusible web to the wrong side of your selected pink fabric scraps, and use AQ55029 to cut out:
- (5) large hearts, (3) medium hearts, and (5) small hearts
- Apply fusible web to the wrong side of your selected pink and yellow fabric scraps and use AQ55045 to cut out a variety of circles and roses to form the centers of the heart flowers.
Sewing Instructions:
All seams are ¼” unless otherwise specified.- Place your applique shapes on one of the 16” squares of background fabric, roughly following the photo above. Allow at least one inch all around the applique as it will be trimmed after quilting.
- Press applique shapes in place, then use your preferred method of raw edge applique to sew them down.
- Make a quilt sandwich with the applique, batting, and the other 16” square of background fabric.
- Quilt as desired.
- Trim the wall hanging.
- Sew the (2) 2 ½” strips of binding fabric together and iron in half lengthwise to make your binding.
- Attach binding, mitring the corners.
